The Best Coffee Drink Ever!

I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to food and drinks, unless there is a weird texture thing, I will pretty much try anything once. I love coffee and I love avocados.. so when I heard about this concoction I was pretty excited to try it. Not really even the least bit skeptical. I could always spit it out if I didn’t like it right?

Let me just tell you, avocado coffee is the best coffee drink ever created. And if you’re about to argue and say, “No it’s not, the Caramel Mach— from Starbucks is the be-“

Please. Please just don’t, for everyone’s sake.

This drink apparently originated in Indonesia. Usually its made with a vanilla syrup but I have altered the ingredients to make it slightly healthier.. as I have never found a vanilla syrup that didn’t have artificial sweeteners in it and we all know how I feel about those.  I also use a Pure Mexican Vanilla not a vanilla extract.

“It makes perfect sense, if you think about it. Avocado has all the characteristics of the ideal coffee creamer. It’s mild in flavor and smooth in texture. And unlike most creamers, avocado is very nutritious with all its healthy fatty acids.” (from Extra Crispy)

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup of ice

1  cup of coffee (cooled to room temperature)

1 medium avocado

1 tsp Pure Vanilla

3 tbsp 100% Pure Maple Syrup

2 tbsp Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (in the video I use a meal replacement protein shake available here)

Mix in a Blender.

Taste and Adjust. Do you like it or does it need to be improved? If the shake is too thick, add some more milk. If the shake is too sweet, add some more coffee. If the shake is not sweet enough, add a little more sweetened condensed milk or syrup.

Serve. I like using a wide straw, which are used for milkshakes or Bubble Tea.

As alternatives you could also use Coconut Milk, or honey instead of syrup, even add cinnamon if you want!

Let me know if you try any of the options above and what you think!
